We are delighted to announce the plans for the Easter 4 Day events: a sprint, and 3 multiday distance forest events all centred on the Waitarere Beach forests.
Each event will have a unique feel, and are brought to you by Red Kiwis, Orienteering Hutt Valley, and Orienteering Wellington.
All systems are “go”: entries will be opening soon and we hope to have the website up in the next few days.
* Day 1 (Good Friday): Sprint, provisionally at Palmerston Boys High and Queen Elizabeth College.
* Day 2 (Saturday): Watchtower.
* Day 3 (Easter Sunday): Hydrabad
* Day 4 (Easter Monday): Whirokino.
First starts on Friday will be 1pm. Course closure on Monday at 2pm – giving everybody time to plan travel.
Our focus will be on event simplicity with great orienteering and community. This means we are keeping the event fees low: $30/adult, $20/junior for the forest events and $20/10 for the sprint. That is roughly $15/adult; $10/junior below recent nationals. We encourage you to donate your savings to cyclone relief funds for our Hawkes Bay friends (or wherever your friends and family may be).
